Fall Fashion With Appleseed’s-outerwear

We’re halfway through our sponsored series with Appleseed’s on creating a fall capsule wardrobe and I must say I have really enjoyed writing about this. I create a capsule wardrobe each season and even adhere to the capsule strategy when packing for vacations. I’m all about making life as smooth and uncomplicated as possible and of course, I believe in looking and feeling our best. A capsule wardrobe is a great way to always look pulled together and feel more confident.

Today I am sharing an item that is definitely integral to any capsule wardrobe regardless of the season, but fall is my favorite time of year for really letting it take center stage.

Outerwear is one of those things I believe that many people either love (meaning that you have a closet with many options) or view as an afterthought. For me, I believe the sweet spot lies somewhere in between. You don’t have to be a collector, but a wardrobe that works well for you just isn’t complete without a nice jacket or coat depending on what the weather is like where you live. When you are building a capsule wardrobe or just deciding to add a quality piece to your collection you want to make sure that it’s classic enough and versatile enough to go with many different looks.

I love this London Fog Wool Scarf Coat because it’s such a versatile wardrobe piece. The length makes it appropriate for many different occasions and has that perfect Goldilocks Effect of not being too long or too short for any of your fall looks. I chose it in vibrant red because I love that it stands out too. I personally think that red looks great with so many other colors that it’s almost a neutral in my book, but for those who aren’t quite of that mindset it comes in three other gorgeous colors too. See them here.

In person this coat looks much more expensive than it actually is. I love the quality and affordability of Appleseed’s pieces and this one does not disappoint. As you can see from the photos it has a button front and double-layered collar. It also has a back vent and is fully lined, which are two things you should expect with any quality coat. As a wonderful bonus, each coat comes with a coordinating fringe scarf.

I wore it with a turtleneck- another fall staple that I will share more about later, and Slimsation Ankle Jeans in dark-you’ve seen the medium wash if you read my previous posts. I also added these fun Bandalino Slip-on Loafers in leopard to complete my fall look.

I believe this coat would look great on pretty much everyone and it comes in misses, petite, and women’s sizing, but if you’re looking for something a little more dressy for your wardrobe I also love the Larry Levine Wool Coat (see it here). If your personal style leans a little more casual you might like this Diamond quilted jacket (you can also see it here).

We have one more single item post to go and then our finale will be how to pull it all together for a complete capsule. I can’t wait, friends!

Until next post,
