What I Wore to a Very Special Brunch Wedding

Okay, I was a day late with my post but for very good reason. My beautiful daughter got married yesterday. The wedding took place at the breathtakingly scenic Lesner Inn overlooking the water in Virginia Beach, VA.

The wedding itself was so unique because my daughter really managed to stay true to herself and opted for a daytime wedding with a brunch theme. Brunch is her absolute favorite so it made sense that she would want to share her love of brunch on her wedding day.

Many of my friends after receiving the invite asked about what to wear. A day wedding overlooking the beach on a holiday weekend is the perfect time to sport something beautiful but not fussy.

For my mother of the bride look I actually went with a silhouette that I might wear at a typical evening wedding, provided that it wasn’t black tie. I chose this gorgeous Natalia lace dress from J. Crew in a light gray. Shop it here

Because it was a beachy wedding I couldn’t resist a coral necklace to add a pop of color. See similar here

I also went with these strappy Tory Burch heels from my Seven Deadly Sins post but in the crackled silver

I am so happy for my daughter and her new husband and wish them a lifetime of wedded bliss. I hope my daughter remembers to have the courage to love hard, to also have a short memory when it comes to minor grievances, and always, and I mean always keep in mind that she is ultimately responsible for her own happiness.
