I have seen a few Deadly Sins beauty posts floating around the blogosphere. I really like this one by beautifybrooke. You can read it here
I decided it might be fun to do a fashion related one, so here is my version of the Seven Deadly Sins of Fashion
Greed: What has been your most inexpensive fashion purchase and what has been your most expensive? My most inexpensive fashion find was a cap sleeve sheath dress that I picked up at Target. I got so many compliments on it and I only paid 29 bucks for it. It actually made my capsule wardrobe cut for several years and I could wear it during several seasons. It was perfect and I loved to see the shocked looks on people’s faces when I told them it was from target. It definitely looked like a more expensive investment piece. Sadly after several years I had to let it go. I still miss it though, it fit perfectly! My most expensive item is my Louis Vuitton bag. This was a birthday gift to myself that I actually saved up for. After purchasing it I actually felt a twinge of First World guilt but I do love it and don’t regret it. There is nothing like a high quality bag. I plan to keep it forever and hope my future granddaughter rocks it as a vintage bag.
Wrath: What fashion item do you have a love/hate relationship with? Ugh, okay. I love 60’s and 70’s fashion and I am so glad that the jumpsuit is making a comeback! It is as perfect to me as the LBD. You can dress them up or down and I love a wide legged jumpsuit. Even with my short legs I feel elongated and strut my inner supermodel when wearing it. However, they are so inconvenient to wear. Who wants to get darn near naked to use a public restroom? Jumpsuits are one of my favorite things to wear so I do make the sacrifice, but I wish there was an easier way to channel my inner Naomi Campbell.
Gluttony: What fashion item can you not get enough of?
This might be a surprise to those who know me well. But besides the occasional jumpsuit I rarely wear pants. I almost never wear pants to work. Dresses are just my thing, but the item I can’t get enough of are jeans! I absolutely love them! Even in my capsule wardrobe I have just about every cut of jean available. I love jeans because they are so versatile and can be easily dressed up or down. My casual wear uniform is usually a blouse or blazer and tee with jeans and heels.
Sloth: What fashion item do you avoid due to laziness?
Anything where layering is needed. I absolutely hate to layer. So, if it’s sheer I pass. No camis for me. Crazy right?
Pride: What fashion item gives you the most self-confidence?
The wrap dress. I love dresses period. Probably because of the ease of wear. They are effortless and you never have to worry about something “going” with it. I am all about clothes being easy, but the wrap dress isn’t just easy, its the perfect blend of sexiness and class.
Lust-What new Fashion item are you dying to have?
I am in love with this Olivia Palermo+Chelsea28 jacket. So gorgeous in person. This picture really doesn’t do it justice.
Envy: What new fashion item would you most like to receive as a gift?
I think that a killer pair of heels like these Tory Burch sandals make a sexy gift from a significant other and statement jewelry is always a welcome gift from a friend.
So now that I have confessed all of my sins, I would love to hear about yours. What is your deadliest fashion sin? Let me know in the comments below.
Until Next post,
I loved this post!!!
I can relate on so many levels.
For instance, I never knew how much I liked a wrap dress until I actually wore one for the first time a few months ago. It’s was a hand me down from my Aunt and I thought I would try it on and hate it. But nope….. I loved how it for my waste line.
The Most I’ve ever spent on a clothing item was my Prom Dress. It was first a NBA Jersey Allen Iverson jersey. I took it to a local cleaners and the tailor there helped me with my design. He was the one to add the fringes. At the time I wasn’t working so my dad spent $60 on the jersey and an aditonal $30 on the fitting and fringes.
A rimless look I love til this day. So for about $90 it came together. I’ve never spent more than $40 on a dress or jeans or clothing item. It seems weird to me. Now with sneakers I used to spend more than $100 on one pair, when I played basketball. Back then I just had to get the latest Iversons or Nikes 😫🤗
I love this post though. It shows your personality. You’re a great blogger with great content.
I hope my comment wasn’t too forth coming . Lol
