I’ve been loving the “Kinda Chic” posts on Instagram, and they inspired me to create my own take on the upcoming season’s standout styles. While the temperatures are still reaching record highs where I live, I’m already looking ahead to fall and the pieces that will define the months ahead.

If you know me, you know I’ve always believed the chicest wardrobe is one that feels timeless with just the right touch of what’s current. Every fall, I enjoy giving my closet a thoughtful refresh by adding a few well-chosen pieces that make my classic staples feel fresh, modern, and ready for a new season.

This season is filled with trends that feel sophisticated, wearable, and, most importantly, like they’ll stand the test of time. Here are ten fall fashion trends I find incredibly chic.

 1. Chocolate Brown Everything

A rich chocolate brown palette is the definition of quiet luxury this season. Think wool coats, suede handbags, and soft knitwear in deep cocoa tones. It’s softer than black, yet just as powerful. Pair it with cream, camel, navy, or burgundy for an effortlessly elevated look.

 2. Barn Jackets

The barn jacket is the unexpected hero of fall outerwear. Functional, relaxed, and endlessly chic, it works with denim, tailored trousers, or even a flowing midi dress. Stick to olive, camel, or classic khaki for that understated, off-duty elegance.

 3. Burgundy Accessories

Burgundy is the new statement neutral. A structured handbag, sleek slingback, or leather belt in deep wine tones instantly elevates even the simplest outfit. It’s bold, but still incredibly refined.

 4. Suede Everything

Suede is having a major moment—and it feels so luxurious. From blazers and loafers to skirts and handbags, this texture adds depth and warmth. Even one suede piece can transform an entire look.

 5. Wide-Leg Tailored Trousers

Relaxed tailoring continues to define modern elegance. Wide-leg wool trousers are the ultimate foundation piece—polished, comfortable, and endlessly versatile. Style them with knits, crisp shirts, or structured blazers.

 6. Riding Boots

Classic riding boots are officially back in rotation. Sleek, timeless, and practical, they pair beautifully with sweater dresses, midi skirts, and slim denim. A true wardrobe investment that never feels dated.

 7. Plaid with a Modern Twist

Plaid returns every fall, but this year it feels cleaner and more refined. Think tailored blazers, long coats, and pleated skirts styled with minimal basics for a modern, elevated finish.

 8. Longline Coats

A full-length wool coat is the definition of effortless sophistication. Whether in camel, navy, charcoal, or black, it instantly elevates everything underneath—even the simplest outfit.

Jewelry is bolder this season. Sculptural cuffs, chunky earrings, and modern chain necklaces bring a polished edge to cozy knits and minimalist silhouettes. Think of it as the finishing touch that completes the story.

10. Navy as the New Black

I loved the striking blue Margiela blazer that Andy wore in the Devil Wears Prada 2, so I’ll be looking for a similar one this fall. 

Navy is quietly replacing black as the most versatile neutral. A navy blazer, coat, or cashmere knit feels just as classic, but slightly softer and more unexpected. It pairs beautifully with chocolate brown, cream, grey, and burgundy.

The most chic wardrobes are never about chasing every trend—they’re about curating pieces that feel intentional, timeless, and personal.

This fall, I’m leaning into rich textures, elevated neutrals, and classic silhouettes that will remain beautiful for years to come.
