How to Dress Like the Characters on Sirens

On today’s installment of How to Dress Like, we’re discussing the new Netflix hit Sirens. I recently binge watched this limited series, and if you haven’t seen this dark comedy about wealth and power on a fictional New England island, I’d recommend watching it for the glossy setting and social commentary. The plot follows a sharp and rebellious newcomer who tracks down her estranged sister and gets drawn into an eerie circle of powerful women led by a billionaire socialite. One of the most striking elements of the show (apart from its gorgeous setting) is how fashion plays a starring role in the storytelling. Sirens is a masterclass in costume design, using hyper-feminine preppy pastels, crisp whites, and sculptural silhouettes to signal class, control, and transformation. If you’re a fan of this ultra-preppy aesthetic here’s how you can translate it into your own wardrobe (click the photos to shop):

The Port Haven Pastel Uniform

Most of Port Haven’s wealthy residents wear campy prep in curated pastels—bold prints in Lilly-Pulitzer-esque florals, madras checks, basket necklaces, headbands, and tonal earrings. The pastel palette—pink, mint, yellow—is the show’s neutral, used to cultivate a uniform, elite vibe.

Key pieces:

  • Shift dresses in bright florals or ginghams. While most of the dresses on the show were custom made to look just like the Lilly Pulitzer aesthetic, you can easily find pieces like this at Lilly Pulitzer and similar brands.
  • Madras shorts, printed blouses or twinsets.
  • Accessories: thick headbands, espadrilles, pastel flats, and raffia basket necklaces (a real-world New England status symbol)  .
  • Men’s styling: pastel chinos, embroidered or printed blazers and anything in the color Nantucket red.

Simone and Devon DeWitt

Simone is a personal assistant to the charismatic leader of their social group and an aspiring queen bee. She takes the Port Haven uniform and makes it even more electric- brighter, louder and hyper feminine with figure-flattering silhouettes. Her bright pink shift pictured above was from a sold out Goop x Lilly Pulitzer collaboration but most of her looks were custom made by the wardrobe department. Her sister Devon arrives to the island with an all black, grunge inspired aesthetic. She eventually adopts the Port Haven uniform to gain the trust of Simone and her boss. Here are some pieces that capture their preppy aesthetic:

Michaela “Kiki” Kell

Simone’s wealthy boss (and leader of their social hierachy), Michaela, doesn’t partake in the Port Haven uniform. She avoids pastels completely. Instead, she embraces statuesque whites, silvers, icy blues, and fluid Grecian drapes—showing her power through serene luxury. She favors brands like Halston, Alexander McQueen and The Row. When Michaela dons workout clothing, she wears wrap tops and leggings from Beyond Yoga. Here are some similar pieces:

Sirens isn’t just a feast for the eyes—it’s a masterclass in using fashion to tell immersive psychological stories. Whether you lean into pastel seams or channel Grecian minimalism, dressing Sirens-style is all about intentional contrast—and the dualities between belonging and power.

I’d love to know your thoughts on the show or the amazing fashion!

Courtney
