Summer and fall have always been my favorite seasons—often battling for the top spot on my list. While I love the freedom of sun-drenched days, I’d often find myself spent at the end of the season— in search of summer’s more structured sister. Thinking about the dichotomy of the two made me realize that summer can be the perfect time to reset, refresh, and reimagine how we live day to day. With longer daylight hours and a shift in pace, there’s no better season to build habits that energize you instead of depleting you. Whether you’re seeking more balance, more joy, or more focus, here’s how to improve your routine this summer:

1. Wake Up with the Sun

Longer mornings mean more time to ease into your day. Try waking up 30 minutes earlier to stretch, journal, or sip your favorite coffee without the rush. Bonus: exposure to morning light helps regulate your circadian rhythm and boost your mood.

2. Swap Screens for Nature

Make a habit of stepping outside—whether it’s a walk after dinner, morning yoga in the park, or just reading on your porch. Nature is a proven stress reliever, and summer makes it easy to get your daily dose.
