5 Fab Holiday Looks You’ll Wear Over and Over Again

Hello December,  I’ve been waiting for you! Last month my husband’s chief financial officer retired and we had a retirement party for her. It was a lovely catered event complete with heating lamps and all (held outdoors for obvious reasons). It felt so good to get dressed up to attend an event again. It was our first major in-person event since early 2020. A coworker of his exclaimed “You look amazing. You’re so pretty!” “ Thank you” I replied (Insert blushing face emoji)  Another co-worker chimed in ‘haven’t you met Tonya before?’ “Yeah”, she replied, “but she was wearing jeans.”

Okay…we’re gonna let the jeans comment slide because- A. I love a good pair of jeans and B. I know what she means…there’s just something special about dressing up for an event. It adds a little wow factor.

This year we’re hosting a Christmas party in our new home. It will be much smaller than the aforementioned event but I’m really excited about all of it- The food (we’re having it catered) the decor (courtesy of moi) and the clothes!

I haven’t decided exactly what I’m wearing yet, but here are a few holiday looks I love that will be mainstays in my wardrobe.

The sparkly dress– this one is a no-brainer. I think every woman should own a dress like this. A little sparkle for the holidays will always be in. It has beautiful bell sleeves, and a little stretch (size up if you have a curvier figure like me). You’ll find yourself reaching for this one year after year. Christmas, New Years, a Milestone Birthday party-it works every single time.

This jumpsuit by Lily Pulitzer is pretty fabulous. My younger daughter isn’t one to easily dole out compliments but when I put this beauty on she said “wow! It looks like you’re going to a wedding and it’s yours! Beautiful!” While I certainly appreciate her enthusiasm, I wouldn’t wear black or a jumpsuit to my own wedding (well maybe a jumpsuit). It really is a show stopper. I also ordered this one in green. These are great for the holidays but they’ll work all year long.

The cozy wrap– if you like your looks a little more low key I love a good wrap. It just instantly elevates your look. The stripes on this one are bold and figure-flattering, a definite win-win. It looks lux and comfy at the same time. This would work with so many pieces you already own. It could be worn over a dress, pants or of course jeans. I’m wearing a black pair that gives it a dressier but still casually chic look.

A statement top- speaking of jeans…if you’re looking for something to compliment a great pair of jeans (jeans can be dressy by the way despite that opening comment) it’s all about elevating the look. This top is perfect with jeans, pants or a skirt. I plan to wear it with a faux leather skirt and booties to an upcoming party I’ve been invited to. You will reach for this one over and over again.

If you’re traveling this holiday season and want something for the beach I’d check out Cabana Life. They have the cutest beach looks and their clothing is sun-safe too! I love this cute and flirty Greenwich Ruffle Dress in wine and pink paisley. And of course it will make the cut for our spring break and summer travel too.

So those are my top pics for holiday looks that you’ll wear time and time again. Now I’d love to hear from you. Tell me about any holiday plans you have and bonus points for sharing any fave holiday inspired looks!

*A couple of the items here were gifted through previous campaigns but this is not a sponsored post, and as usual all opinions are my own.

Until Next Post,

  1. I love all of these looks. I really like wearing jumpsuits for holiday parties and both of your picks are perfect! I need to revisit the Cabana Life site too because I see a great dress for my upcoming beach trip.

  2. We usually have a few dress up events around the holidays, but this year we’ll be staying home. I love dressing up so I’m hoping that next year will be a little more like “normal”. Until then, I’m focusing on casual outfits with dainty jewelry 🙂
