Fall Crush- 5 Things I’m loving this season

Every year I like to highlight some of my favorite fall things. It’s officially fall now but most of us have been in fall mode since we flipped our planners to Sept and a certain coffee chain released their best-selling latte. However, you won’t find any other references to pumpkin spice here, though I have had my fair share of gourd-flavored things. Instead, you’ll find a list of a few of the things I’m loving and am excited about as we roll into autumn, including Fall 2024 Fashion Trends, fall fashion accessories, a little fall beauty, and even a few fall activities.

  1. Leopard print– this print seems to provoke strong feelings. You’re either team love it or loathe it. But either way, it’s everywhere right now. I’ve seen a lot of people praising the resurgence of leopard, which I find ironic. Do we have a resurgence of bright florals for spring? I don’t think so. It’s a mainstay for that time of year and leopard is always a fall go-to. If you’re a fan you won’t have a hard time finding your favorite piece but I love this dress and this top. And if you’re not a big fan of an all-over look, accessories are always an easy way to dip your toe into a seasonal trend. Think a cute slingback heel or a skinny calf hair belt . And, because I am team love it, I have to say that even though it’s trending right now, it’s a year-round print so anything Leopard print is a great investment.
  1. Burgundy– I love all of the wine-inspired fashion and accessories. Bordeaux, plum, and wine are perfect shades for this time of year. I love this skirt and I’ve temporarily suspended my signature red in 400 for this one in 201. This berry color is more affordable and a clean beauty fan favorite too. Like red I think there’s a berry shade that looks amazing on everyone.
  1. Wedding-inspired things. Wait hear me out. I know we’re rolling into the spooky season and most people think of spring for weddings. But Fall is the most popular wedding season (and the one I chose for my own) so it’s the perfect time to cuddle up and watch The Perfect Couple on Netflix and/or read The Wedding People. Both are binge worthy. And in case you’re attending a wedding this fall here are two wedding guest dresses that I love (here and here).
  1. Plaid– I’m going to be honest. I’m not a huge fan of this print but this year I’ve seen plaid in such pretty silhouettes. My daughter got this top and it’s incredibly flattering on her. I’m adding it to my wish list too. I like the wine plaids a lot more than the classic reds. There’s just something a little more chic about this color when used in the traditional plaid print.
  1. Okay, now here’s your spooky season inspiration. This summer we took a Secrets and Untold Stories walking tour where we got a small taste of their ghost tour (he threw in a few ghost tales on our historic walk). I’ve been dying to go back to (no pun intended) to do it but haven’t yet. Last week I went to Savannah for a conference and I was invited to attend one there but unfortunately missed it due to a scheduling mishap. So a Ghost tour is now high on my must-do list for next month. If you’d like to do one I’m sure there’s one in a city near you. For my local friends, I’ve linked Williamsburg and Norfolk’s too.

So that’s my list of Fall Crush items but I asked my fashing lover daughter for her recommendations too- so as a bonus here are a few more: Fisherman sweaters, vintage/victorian details, fair isle sweaters, trench coats, moody florals, and raffia bags for fall!

I’d love to hear what you’re loving this season too.

Until next post,
