The other day while shuffling through the mail I came across a handwritten envelope. “I think you’ve received a letter?” I said to my daughter with a slightly puzzled tone. “Yay! It’s from my friend who lives in Texas. I sent her one last week.” “Young adults write letters? Even I use email” I said while handing it to her. “Mom, you write letters all the time!” She gestured to the colorful box of notecards sitting on the kitchen table. “Those aren’t letters. Those are cards. I love cards!” I said. “Same thing” she replied dryly.
Point taken-while I use my phone for almost everything else I do love sending actual cards. All kinds of cards-Thank you notes, notes to say I’m thinking of You, and of course invitations.
As we start to get together again I want to share some of my favorites from Basic Invite. If you’ve been following along for a while you might remember that I used Basic Invite baby shower invitations for my older daughter’s Sprinkle (second baby shower)! Aren’t these cute?

While Showers and Sprinkles are pretty exciting, right now many of you are enthusiastically looking forward to announcing your graduates’ special day! These graduation announcements are perfect for your college or high school graduate. Many of my friends are planning smaller but still lovely versions of college and high school graduation parties for their sons and daughters. So whether their graduate is having an in-person commencement or a virtual one, sending out these invites for a graduation open house will be sure to make it feel special even before the big day.

And speaking of special open houses, there are cute little invites for new homeowners. With interest rates low everyone seems to be buying new homes! They have the perfect “We’ve Moved” announcements to share the news about your new home or for inviting your friends and family over for your very first open house.
Here are a few things that make Basic Invite a favorite of mine.
Almost Unlimited Colors– Basic Invite is one of the few websites that allows us to choose almost unlimited color options with instant previews online. Once you select a design, you can change the color of each element on the card. With over 180 colors to choose from, the invite is sure to be exactly how we want it.
Over 40 Different Colors of Envelopes– Basic Invite has over 40 different envelope colors to choose from. With so many options, we can make our envelope match the invitation. All of the envelopes are peel and seal so they can be closed quickly and securely.
Address Capturing Service– Basic Invite offers an address capturing service that allows us to share a link on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any other social media to request our friend’s and family’s addresses. The addresses are stored in the account and can be selected during the design process. Basic Invite offers recipient address printing at no cost on all card orders!
For a really special touch, you can add Foil–
Foil cards are available in gold, silver, and rose gold. Customers can choose flat or raised foil on all of Basic Invite’s foil designs.
And the best part is right now Basic Invite is offering 15% off with coupon code: 15FF51 so if you’re announcing or planning an upcoming event here’s a little discount for you.
On a personal note, we just sold our house, so fingers crossed that we’ll be one of those new homeowners again soon! And don’t be surprised if you get a little We’ve Moved announcement from me too.
Until Next Post!

Congrats on selling your house! I LOVE notecards and invitations so much!! I bet you didn’t know that I used to have an invitation and gift store. It was fun, but wore me out! I’ll be needing some invitations soon, so I will look at their site.

Hi Tonya, I used to design invitations (a long time ago) so I was a bit spoiled about getting exactly what I wanted 😉 So when I discovered Basic Invite a few years ago, I was thrilled with their customization options! I’m ordering our son’s high school graduation announcements from them – so excited to be able to tailor the style to his personality. Your daughter’s invitations are so cute – and I had no idea that a second shower was called a sprinkle!! Xo Nipa

That is absolutely wonderful! I’ve now discovered that I have a friend who designed invitations and one who owned a stationary store. I love learning more about you all too. Congrats on your son’s graduation too! What an exciting time for all of you! Xo
